Zen Traveler & Creative Guy on the Loose
A Creative Guy on the Loose...
Welcome to my new page. My resume can be found below!
How did I get here?
Illustration and writing have always been at the core of my work. During my graduate work in history at the University of California, Irvine, on a whim, I attended a comic book conference at another regional university. There, I connected with a professional literary agent who signed my book project to Christy Ottaviano Publishing at MacMillan Publishing, New York.
It's been interesting...
At the time, I was also more heavily involved in CBI and SCBWI. I now have 5 published books. A couple of them are award winners. It was through my work as a writer and illustrator that I was lucky enough to have my agent at the time realize that I might fit in well at Jim Henson Company. She introduced me to their publishing branch editor and he brought me in to help work up some concepts for "Sid the Science Kid" and some other properties. I've been lucky to work for some amazing organizations - from NPOs and NGOs to cultural events and educational companies.
I also took a leap into the world of filmmaking, media editing, private business marketing, and animation. I absolutely love what I do and the folks that I get to work with. I look forward to talking with you or your organization about how I can become an asset to you.
